Transitioning service vehicles to electric, prioritising UK suppliers, and designing installations for serviceability so customers replace fewer components over a system's life.
Funded electrical and FESS apprenticeships from year one, JIB-graded pay across the workforce, and community sponsorship across our South Wales home counties.
BAFE, NICEIC, SSAIB, ECA, JIB and Constructionline audits keep our technical, financial and labour-standard practices under independent ongoing review.
VoltSecure was founded by engineers who came up through the trade in South Wales. ESG and social value aren't a procurement checkbox for us - they're how the business has grown from a two-person start-up to a UK-and-Europe operating contractor with funded apprenticeships running on every job.
This page sets out what we already do, what we measure, and where we want to improve.
Our full Carbon Reduction Plan sets out our baseline approach, 50% reduction target by 2030 and our path to Net Zero by 2050 - aligned with PPN 06/21 for public-sector contracting.
Our service-vehicle fleet is transitioning to electric where charging infrastructure makes it operationally viable. Engineer routes are scheduled to consolidate site visits, reducing total miles per project.
We prioritise UK suppliers and accredited distribution partners to minimise long-distance freight where alternatives exist. Equipment is specified for serviceability and long working life - the largest indirect emissions lever in our sector is the avoided replacement of working kit.
We buy electricity for our Caerphilly HQ and Pontypridd Service Hub under a renewable tariff. As an electrical contractor with growing capability in renewables, our own EV charging, solar PV and battery installations are being phased in.
We run funded apprenticeships in both electrical installation and Fire, Emergency & Security Systems (FESS). Apprentices are paid from day one with structured day-release at a partner college. No prior trade experience is required - attitude and willingness to learn matter more than entry qualifications.
Headcount has more than doubled year on year since founding. Recruitment is local-first - across Caerphilly County Borough, Rhondda Cynon Taf, Cardiff City Council and the wider South Wales valleys.
Every role is mapped to the Joint Industry Board grade for transparent, industry-standard rates. Pension contribution applies from day one, company sick pay sits above statutory minimums, and an Employee Assistance Programme provides confidential mental-health, financial and family support.
We sponsor local sport, community groups and youth clubs across our home boroughs - including Cardiff City FC partnerships, local bowls and lawn clubs (Llanbradach, Ystrad Mynach, Cwmaman / Maesycwmmer) and other community organisations whose work we see first-hand in the areas we live and work.
Our Modern Slavery Statement sets out the steps we take to keep our supply chain free of forced or coerced labour. We rely on Constructionline and SSIP-recognised checks across our subcontractor base.
VoltSecure is audited by UKAS-accredited certification bodies across the disciplines we work in:
Audits are ongoing - certificates are not awarded once and forgotten. The full list with what each certification actually covers is on our accreditations page.
Our published policy documents are linked from the site footer: Accessibility, Carbon Reduction Plan, Cookie Policy, Modern Slavery Statement, Privacy Notice and Site Terms.
This page is reviewed annually. As baseline emissions figures, apprenticeship numbers, supply-chain audit results and community investment totals are verified, they will be published here. For specific information for tender support or framework submissions, please get in touch.
