Scope

A well-established London law firm required a comprehensive upgrade to its premises security. Client confidentiality, physical protection of client files and strongroom areas, and insurer-led grading requirements all drove the brief. The existing systems were fragmented - the intruder and access systems didn't talk to each other and CCTV footage retention was non-compliant.

• Grade 3 intruder alarm (PD 6662:2017 / BS EN 50131) with dual-path signalling
• BS 8243 confirmed signalling for police URN-backed response
• Biometric access control on strongroom and restricted-access file areas
• Card + mobile-credential access on main zones with full audit trail
• IP CCTV to BS EN 62676 with GDPR-compliant retention and signage
• Central VMS with role-based access for partners and security manager
• Interlocked doors and anti-tailgate routing on client-file areas

Why it mattered

For a professional-services firm, the most important outcome of a security programme is the stuff that never happens - no incidents, no breaches, no insurance dispute. But the second-most important outcome is demonstrable compliance: insurers, professional-conduct bodies and client due-diligence audits all ask to see it in writing.
